Cyber attack on TikTok targeting brand and celebrity accounts
Tiktok said on Tuesday it had taken steps to prevent cyber attacks targeting high-profile accounts, including CNN.
"Our security team was recently alerted to malicious actors targeting CNN's TikTok account," TikTok spokesperson Jason Gross said in a prepared statement. Gross said TikTok was working with CNN to restore access to the account and add "enhanced security measures" to protect it, according to news agency AP.
"We are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the platform and will continue to monitor for any further unauthentic activity," Gross added.
The social media company said the attack took place through the platform's direct messaging feature, without sharing further details about the nature of the hack.
